Randy came to Portside at Grande Dunes 15 months after it opened. He has worked in the industry, in a regional capacity, for over 9 years. He is able to bring the “best of” what he has seen and experienced during his involvement with over 40 communities across the county. Randy is a licensed administrator in South Carolina and Florida, he has an MBA from Kennesaw State University and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and a Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional. He and his wife of over 25 years, are passionate Auburn fans with one son (an Auburn Graduate) who is currently serving in the Army. They both enjoy traveling and walks on the beach with their three dogs.
Michaela is a native of Germany; she immigrated into the U. S. in September of 1996. Michaela developed her passion for Senior Care when she was 14 and volunteered at her local nursing home. After her move to the U.S. she raised three children and worked in the culinary industry for 18 years before returning to college at the age of 38. Michaela graduated from Coastal Carolina in 2018 and found herself back in Senior Care where that passion still burns today. "Nothing brings more joy to my heart and soul then spending time with our residents. Learning about their experiences, their life, and the things they have seen change."
Michaela enjoys reading, golf, eating, outdoors, creating her list of places to see in the U.S., and spending time with her family. Horses and Elephants are her favorite animals, dancing in the rain is still a favorite from childhood, and she wants to learn one more language.
Ashley Maietta joins the team after having enjoyed the past few years in the sunny South; moving here originally come from Pennsylvania. She has worked in a variety of settings throughout her nursing career which has spanned over 10 years. These settings have included long term care, hospice, and case management. She enjoys working with seniors because she sees the value that everyone brings. She is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Nursing Administration through Liberty University. In her free time, she enjoys taking her two pups, Louie & Quinn for walks on the beach, learning to cook and watching football with her husband, Bryan. Her compassion for others and her positive personality are a perfect fit to lead the Portside care team.
Faith, family and friendship are the core staples of Portside’s Lifestyle Director. Trish’s passion for bringing joy to those she encounters is evidenced by her unmatched energy and love for her career! When she's not working hard to make her Portside family smile, she loves spending time appreciating the beauty of the Grand Strand, and can be found on the beach simply taking it all in. Anchored by Faith, being Grateful and Blessed are key opponents in her life she lives by.
Sue grew up on the coast of Maine and loves to go back and visit family and friends during the summer months. After vacationing in the Myrtle Beach area for several years, Sue and her husband, John, decided to make the move to South Carolina for year-round golf and beach weather. Sue enjoys camping with her husband and trips to Kentucky where their children and granddaughter live. Sue loves working with seniors and hearing their life stories.
Kaitlyn is originally from a small town in Massachusetts on the New Hampshire border; she moved to Myrtle Beach in 2016 with her family. Graduating from college up north, Fitchburg State University, she majored in communications, concentrated in theater, and minored in art. “My entire life I have watched my mom work in nursing and my step dad as a firefighter/paramedic and I am happy to finally be in this line of work, getting to use all my energy and exciting ideas to keep people happy, healthy and enjoy this new phase of life.” Kaitlyn interned at Walt Disney World and brings the same high standard of joy and excitement to all the activities she plans at Portside! When not at Portside, you can find her spending time with her three cats, Simba, Cleo and Hank or hanging out with family; my only nephew is two years old and keeps us all on our toes!
A little over ten years ago Renee started her journey in the health care industry as a CNA at a doctor’s office in North Carolina. Eventually she was moved up to the Office Referral Specialist; in February 2019, she began her journey at Portside at Grande Dunes. “I am excited to show my love and passion to care for others in the senior community; our residents have brought so much joy and meaning to my life. I hope to continue to show my love and dedication to our seniors through my hard work.” In her free time, Renee enjoys spending time with her family, riding motorcycles, and outdoor activities.
Born and raised in Conway, SC., Cat went to Coastal Carolina University, graduating in 2011 with a BS in Health Promotion. She has lived in Myrtle Beach since 2015 with her husband, 2 little girls, and 2 dogs. “I knew I wanted to be in senior living after the passing of my grandmother in 2002. My passion is for seniors. Being able to help families make those hard decision and seeing them thru life transitions; helping them be their best and happiest…makes my job worth it!”
Cat enjoys going to the beach or being by the pool with family and friends. Shopping is a must and loves spending time with her family.
Born and raised in Southern California, Hector brings a wealth of culinary inspiration through his 25-plus years as a restaurateur and caterer. After years of serving the TV, movie and film industry in Hollywood, California, he and his partner decided to slow things down and semi-retire to the North Georgia Mountains where they once again found great acceptance of their talents with Madeline’s Café and Bakery, Millie’s Diner and Coast 2 Coast Catering. It was a trip with friends to Myrtle Beach in Spring of 2017 that prompted them purchase a vacation home which they would soon call home in 2019. By nature of his compassionate spirit, he was drawn to the Portside at Grande Dunes Community and their caregiving philosophy and has opted to call this his work home. Hector hopes to educate and inspire the residents of Portside with local and international cuisines sourcing local vendors and community interaction. When he is not in the kitchen, Hector is usually fishing, boating and entertaining friends and family.
Mandi has a passion for seniors and is so excited to bring that passion to Portside. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family! She adores her son, husband, and her two chihuahuas. Fun fact about Mandi: She is obsessed with learning and implementing a Holistic lifestyle.
